18th Border Regions in Transition – BRIT XVIII – Rethinking Borderlands in an Era of Polycrisis
BRIT XVIII brings together scholars, practitioners and civil society actors from around the world to examine how borders and borderlands are being reshaped by intersecting geopolitical, environmental, economic, demographic and social transformations. Hosted in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the conference offers a particularly relevant setting for dialogue on changing borders, territoriality, cross-border cooperation, migration, identity and everyday life in borderlands. The conference welcomes interdisciplinary perspectives and seeks to encourage geographical diversity, conceptual plurality and exchange between academic research and practice
The 18th BRIT Conference will take place in Sarajevo between May 7 and 11, 2027, with Hungarian co-organization.
