How green growth affects environmental quality in some Central and Eastern European countries: an asymmetric analysis

Recently published: ‘How green growth affects environmental quality in some Central and Eastern European countries: an asymmetric analysis‘, a new study authored by Thanh Son Ngo, Kariyawasam Pinikahana, Gamage Lahiru Sandaruwan, Viktor Varjú and Diána Koponicsné Györke.

This paper examines the relationship between green growth and environmental quality in five Central and Eastern European countries (Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Croatia), with a particular focus on the load capacity factor as an indicator of environmental sustainability. Using advanced econometric techniques, the authors investigate how green growth affects environmental conditions across different levels of economic and environmental performance. The study contributes to the sustainability literature by offering a novel perspective on the interactions between green growth and environmental sustainability in the Central and Eastern European region.

The study is available online in the new issue of Regional Statistics.
